A team of church volunteers and medical professionals will host the clinic at 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the church, 18575 S.E. Langensand Road.
Those in need of care from the areas of Sandy, the Mount Hood communities, Boring, Eagle Creek and Estacada are welcome to attend to receive dental fillings and extractions on a first-come-first-served basis. Those in need of a flipper, crown or cleaning are required to call Tami Beaty at 503-698-4622 to book an appointment.
“There’s a need now more than ever for free dental care,” said volunteer event coordinator Tami Beaty. “I think when people are in need, that money tends to go elsewhere. All of this preventative stuff is such a big deal for (those who otherwise couldn’t afford these services).”

People are encouraged to show up to the church early that Sunday to allow time to screen for COVID symptoms, assess the needs of those in attendance, and efficiently care for as many patients as possible.
“When you do things (like provide partials and flippers) for people, it changes their lives,” Beaty said.
These clinics provide dental care free of charge to 100-120 people every year and provide access to a free lunch.
In conjunction with the clinic, volunteers will host both a drop or swap and give-and-take events downstairs in the church from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, offering children’s clothing for infants to teens, books, toys and shoes, as well as an assortment of adult clothing.
Those who wish to attend can come solely to receive clothing free of charge or bring lightly used donations to swap for new-to-you items.
The church will also host a kids craft time from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. so that parents in need of dental services who need to bring their children with them can do so and have people to watch their kids while they receive care.
There are no requirements for eligibility; insurance is not required, and eligibility is not based on income level. If you need dental care, you are welcome to attend. The clinic is first come, first served.
“When you see people and how appreciative they are, you want to help them again,” Beaty said.
