ADVERTISEMENTS

Stan Grubbs, left, and John Roper, both members of the Sandy Kiwanis Club, cut firewood on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Shorty's Corner on Highway 26 east of Sandy. Members from the Kiwanis Club, the Sandy Masons, the Sandy High School Key Club, and volunteers from the community joined forces to cut, split and stack firewood that was donated by the city of Sandy as an emergency heat source to those in need. The Sandy Kiwanis Club has a wood cut about once a month. The group also is looking for money to purchase a new wood splitter. If you would like to donate your time or money, contact D.J. Anderson at 503-260-5005. For more photos of this event, turn to Page 10A.
