Richard Sherman Lewis Sr.
Sept. 2, 1951-Jan. 15, 2010
Sandy resident Richard Sherman Lewis Sr., 58, died Friday, Jan. 15, of abdominal cancer at Kaiser Permanente in Clackamas.
A memorial and celebration of his life will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan 30, at Learning Tree School, 4400 S.W. 11th St., Gresham.
Richard was born Sept. 2, 1951, in Portland to Frank and Belva (Helder) Lewis. He graduated from Centennial High School and attended Mt. Hood Community College.
On Oct. 3, 1970, he married Deborah Todd at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Gresham.
Richard worked for Curtis RV. He also worked for School Bus Services and Western Bus Sales from 1977 to 1999.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Rhonda Rathjen of Sandy and Christine Lewis of Portland; sons, Ric Lewis of Estacada and Keith Davis of Palm Coast, Fla.; mother, Belva Lewis of Gresham; sister, Kathleen Seidel of Gresham; and five grandchildren.

Former Sandy resident Dave Raymond Deichler, 59, died Thursday, Jan. 21, at his home in Grants Pass.
Service arrangements are pending.
Dave was born Sept. 15, 1950, in California to Herbert and Darlene Deichler. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
On Aug. 20, 1983, he married Shelley Benfield.
Dave and Shelley owned the 7-Eleven franchise in Sandy from 1984 to 1991.
Survivors include his wife.

June 29, 1922-Jan. 24, 2010
Former Sandy resident Hubert James Johnson, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 24, in a Portland care center.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Sandy Funeral Home, 39551 Pleasant St. Private burial will be at Firhill Memorial Cemetery.
Hubert was born June 29, 1922, in Clarkston, Wash., to Jack and Viola (Clark) Johnson. When he was 14 years old, his family moved to Clark County, where he continued his education. Hubert served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, the Merchant Marines and then in the Navy from 1942 until his discharge in 1945.
On March 6, 1945, he married Maxine McManus in Vancouver, Wash. They lived in Vancouver before moving to Oregon, where they lived in Parkrose and Sandy before settling in Gresham.
Hubert worked in logging and as a log truck driver, and also as a truck driver for Bowers Trucking and Southern Pacific Motor Trucking. He retired in 1982.
