Another person has died from injuries received in a Dec. 18 crash on Highway 26 near the Boring exit.
Ashlee Bradbury, 15, of Vancouver, Wash., died Sunday, Dec. 27, at Legacy Emanuel Hospital, where she had been receiving medical care for critical injuries suffered in the nighttime crash.
Bradbury was a rear-seat passenger in a vehicle traveling west in the left lane of Highway 26 when a wrong-way driver crashed head-on into the Bradbury vehicle.
Also in the vehicle, driven by her 33-year-old father, Terry Bradbury, were her 14-year-old brother, Charles Bradbury, in the front seat, and a friend from Sandy, Dawn N. Misener, 17, who was in the rear seat.
As of Tuesday, Terry Bradbury was still in serious condition at Legacy Emanuel Hospital; his son has been discharged. None of the local hospitals listed Misener as a patient.
The wrong-way driver, Anthony Petereit, 53, of Boring, died at the scene.
Ashlee Bradbury received critical injuries in the crash and was transported by LifeFlight helicopter.
Oregon State Police troopers are in charge of the ongoing investigation. According to an OSP spokesperson, Petereit was diabetic, and troopers are looking into the possibility he experienced a medical problem while driving home from his workplace in the Gresham area.
