Sandy High’s snow sports swap this weekend

The annual Sandy High School Snow Sports Swap is one of the largest swap/consignment events in the Portland area, according to its organizers.

The swap will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, in Gym B at Sandy High School, 17100 Bluff Road.

An early-bird sale will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20. Admission is $2 for adults, $1 for children 12 and younger or $5 per family. Admission is free all day Saturday. No credit or debit cards will be accepted.

Sale items include consigned and donated new and used equipment for snowboarding, alpine and Nordic skiing, winter apparel, gloves, eyewear, children’s items, collectibles and more.

Also included is a huge inventory of new equipment from retailers in the area.

The event features prizes, raffles, silent auctions and additional fun, said a spokesperson for the swap meet, which was described as “an event for the whole family to come out and enjoy.”

Consignment and donated items will be accepted at the sale site from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, But the recommended method for registering ahead of the sale is through www.sandysnowsports.com.

The ski team charges a 30-percent consignment fee for all items sold during the sale. Consignment fees and door donations are tax deductible.

The Sandy High School ski team sponsors this event. Proceeds from the sale help offset the costs of on-mountain training and competitions during the upcoming race season.
