He looks forward to those moments he can sing.
“The songs that he sings, they’re lively, and they’re fun and energetic,” he says. “It lets my personality show through more.”
Savannah Campbell, 17, a senior at Corbett High School and the stage manager for “Pocahontas,” enjoys being completely stressed out.
“I tell when the lights go on and off, I tell everyone when the show starts, I go to every rehearsal, I work on scripts,” she says. “I like the busyness, I like being involved that way. It takes a lot of work and time.”
Even though she’s not on stage, Savannah says she actually feels she has more to do than anyone on it.
“Even the director will say that the stage manager has more lines than actors and actresses because I’m telling people what to do during the whole play,” she says.
Both Savannah and Dunlop say “Pocahontas” will dazzle audience members. Dunlop adds that the dancing “is probably some of the highest quality we’ve had with CYT,” adding that noted Portland area choreographer John Armour has volunteered to help stage fight scenes.
“It’s going be a big amazing show with tons of lights and lots of actions going on,” Savannah says.
