Meanwhile, Verdoorn agrees that the dual store is working well. For her half, Cast One On, the larger space has allowed Verdoorn to expand the offerings to include fabric in addition to sewing and knitting supplies. That wasn’t possible in the smaller location she used to have.
“It kept growing in all around me,” she said. “I realized fabric and yarn kind of go together.”
Verdoorn also has a workroom to offer classes on quilting, knitting, crocheting and other crafts. She also sees it as a good space for the many area residents who might not have enough space at home to work.
“Hopefully it will just be a place that people can come and work on a project,” Verdoorn said. “Those of us with children at home don’t always have a place at home we can set things out.”
