ADVERTISEMENTS
A nationally syndicated cartoonist will come to town Thursday, March 6, giving locals a unique look into the creative comic-making process.
Leigh Rubin’s single-panel comic, “Rubes,” has appeared in The Sandy Post and hundreds of other newspapers across the country, and has graced millions of greeting cards, mugs and T-shirts.
But starting at 7 p.m., he will be at the Clackamas County Bank Sunset Room, 38975 Proctor Blvd. in Sandy, to give a thought-provoking and entertaining presentation on his cartoons.
“I talk a lot about creativity,” Rubin said. “I like to get into where the ideas come from, what inspires me, and how I keep doing this day after day for 23 years.”
The event is hosted by The Post.
“I’m real excited to come to Sandy,” Rubin said, noting that our town is the smallest one in which he’s given a presentation. “These kinds of events are always just a blast – as long as nobody throws anything at me. I just hope we get a good turnout.”
