Young private eye Sally Blane is known for her mystery-solving skills, but when her father is kidnapped and taken to South America, she has to put those talents to personal use. In the process she is poisoned, takes part in a car chase and seeks a missing fortune.
You won’t have to head to the movie theater to experience such action-packed adventure – Boring’s Nutz-n-Boltz Theater presents “Sally Blane: World’s Greatest Detective” at the Boring-Damascus Grange starting this weekend.
“The title says a lot about it,” said Justin Lazenby, 31, the director of the show and also an actor in the production. “It pays homage to the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys mysteries.”
It’s exactly the type of play that Nutz-n-Boltz Theater wanted to do.
“It’s very simple to design,” said Kelly Lucas, 37, an actor who also serves as the artistic director of the burgeoning theater company. “We can’t do complicated things with our limited space. I try and pick things that will sit well with our space.”
Both Lucas and Lazenby believe that the community will enjoy the humorous nature of the play and that they have the right actors to pull it off.
